This line of research focuses on the analysis of the generation, transmission, distribution and consumption of electric energy, with emphasis on state-of-the-art technologies and the sustainability of primary resources.
The research is oriented towards non-conventional renewable energies and the massification of the efficient use of electric energy in the transportation, heating and cooling, and residential and industrial consumption sectors.
Among the outstanding projects are the development of electric vehicles and mathematical tools for decision making in the operation and planning of systems, analysis of the stability of power systems, design and regulation of markets; design and energization of intelligent networks including innovative control actions in network devices, generation and consumption; analysis of the impact of renewable energies in power systems; and the study of strategies for adaptation to climate change.
