Special Admissions and Transfers
The Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences of the Universidad de Chile has, in addition to the PSU, a possibility of Special Admission to enter Engineering, Geology and Bachelor’s Degrees.
The following are the different ways of Special Admission and Transfers:
Focused on Universidad de Chile students with at least two years of studies and who wish to change to one of the careers or degrees offered by the School of Engineering and Sciences.
In the Faculty of Physical Sciences and Mathematics there are 30 places for students who have completed the Baccalaureate Program at the University of Chile. Students who enter through this program do so at the third to fourth semester level.
It allows those who have completed a minimum of 2 years or 4 semesters of university studies in the country or abroad, to enter our Faculty. Their admission will depend, among other aspects, on a minimum validation of subjects.
Those in possession of a professional degree or an academic degree granted by the University of Chile, a foreign university or another university of the Council of Rectors may apply to the careers or degrees offered by the School of Engineering and Sciences through a special selection system.
There are 3 places for students who have studied abroad the last two years, or at least 3 of the last 4 years of high school. They must meet the university entrance requirements in the country where they completed their studies, and take mathematical reasoning tests and tests of specific knowledge of physics and mathematics.
The Universidad de Chile, in accordance with its current regulations, invites to apply to athletes who have figured in one or more disciplines during the previous two years, either at regional or national level and/or the quality of pre-selected or national selected in the category corresponding to their age, and participate primarily in sports recognized by the Olympic Committee of Chile. Priority consideration is given to those who represent the requirements of the University’s current national teams.
The Faculty of Physical Sciences and Mathematics decided to be part of a special admission project that has been developed for some years in some faculties of the University of Chile and that today continues to expand: the Priority Admission System for Educational Equity (SIPEE).
The initiative seeks to support good students from vulnerable schools with PSU scores below the cut-off score. There are 20 places available and the applicant must obtain a PSU score equal to or higher than 650 points.
Promote educational research in its disciplinary area. Currently there are publications of international prestige in the field of educational research, particularly in engineering education.

The PEG generates 40 special places for women who are on the waiting list -that is, under the last applicant selected in the regular admission process established by the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities- for admission to the Common Plan of the School of Engineering and Sciences.
