Salida patio de ingeniería eléctrica

The undergraduate program offered by the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Universidad de Chile delivers the academic degree of Bachelor in Engineering Sciences, mention in Electrical Engineering and the professional degree of Electrical Civil Engineer after 12 semesters of study.

Our program prepares professionals with a broad education, capable of applying the sciences and the scientific method to the analysis and solution of technical-economic problems of the specialty.

During 2009, a new curriculum began to be applied, which responds to a renewed vision of the profession and the teaching of engineering, and which is framed in the curricular reform that the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences of our house of studies began to implement in 2007.

Considering that the implementation of this new program is gradual by levels, at present and until 2012 there were two undergraduate programs.

Entry between 1989 and 2006: students who entered the old civil engineering plan and enrolled in the first course of the degree (EL31A) no later than the Spring 2008 semester are considered students of the old plan of the specialty.

Entry from 2007 onwards: students who have entered the new civil engineering program in our faculty, and who enrolled in the first two courses of our degree program (EL3001 and EL3002) in the Fall 2009 semester or later, are considered students of the new curriculum.

The curriculum consists of a four-semester program of the Common Plan of the FCFM, which provides an important training in basic sciences that makes a difference in the undergraduate education of future engineers and scientists. At the end of the Common Plan courses, students can opt for the Civil Electrical Engineering program, where students take another 4 semesters (5-8) to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Sciences, mention in Electrical Engineering. They then take another 4 semesters.
